Thinking of switching to a plant-based diet? Try starting with these…

Plant-based products are on the rise, as are plant-based fast food options, like Kevin Hart’s Hart House (a plant-based fast food restaurant in Southern California).

If you’re considering switching to a plant-based diet, you might be wondering how to do that while still being able to enjoy some of your favorite foods (or at least alternative options to them that still taste good).

There’s nothing that turns people away from a plant-based diet quicker than a lack of tasty plant-based options.

People don’t just want food for fuel. They want to enjoy it.

So, if you’re looking to actually enjoy switching to a plant-based diet, here are some products that you might enjoy.

1. Chobani Oat Milk

It’s true that Chobani is well-known for being a great brand of yogurt, but they’ve got oat milk that tastes the least nutty of all the brands of oat milk out there.

It’s got a smooth texture and the original flavor is the closest to dairy milk you can get without too strong of a nutty taste.

Other brands of oat milk you could try include Oat Malk, Pacific Foods, Elmhurst, Planet Oak, Oatsome, Silk, Trader Joe’s, Califia Farms, 365 Everyday Value, and Oatly.

2. Daiya Plant-Based Cheese

If you’re a cheese lover and you’re finding it hard to give up cheese for your plant-based diet, you’ll love Daiya.

Add a layer to your favorite veggie sandwich or make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Other brands you could try include Dr. Cow, Field Roast, Nona, Nuts for Cheese, Parma, Follow Your Heart, Good Planet, Kite Hill Creamery, So Delicious, Violife, Treeline, and Vromage.

3. Amy’s Line of Products

Amy’s is a popular vegan brand that makes tons of vegan, plant-based food.

They have vegetable soups, frozen pizzas, salsa, burritos, burgers, wraps, and more.

They’re foods are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free.

4. Country Crock’s Plant-Based Butter

If you want a vegan alternative to butter, Country Crock’s plant-based butter is a pretty good option.

Not only does the butter look similar to the original vegetable oil spread, but it tastes even better if you can believe it.

Smear some on a bagel or an English muffin for a delicious breakfast.

5. Barilla’s Plant-Based Pasta

If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to traditional pasta, Barilla has a few plant-based options.

They have a chickpea pasta, a red lentil pasta, and several other options.

While the texture isn’t the same as traditional pasta (depending on how long you cook the noodles), you can season it up the way you want and have a traditional dish in a non-traditional and healthier way.

6. Jackfruit

Jackfruit is a great alternative to meat. It can be used to make the same dishes you’d traditionally make with meat such as chicken.

In the mood for some chicken tacos?

Use jackfruit in the place of chicken, season it the way you’d normally season your chicken, and you’ve got a mouth-watering plant-based meal you’ll make again and again.

7. Aquafaba

Aquafaba is essentially chickpea water and people use it as a substitute for egg white.

It can be used to make meringues and brownies, among other things.

Check out some recipes you can make with aquafaba.

You can also use whole egg substitutes that you just have to heat up on the stove top or in the air fryer.

8. Seitan

Another meat alternative to try is Seitan. You can use it to mimick the texture of bacon, sausage, duck, or beef.

It can be roasted, grilled, or cooked in the oven.

It can be paired with most foods, but some say it works best in Asian cuisine.

You can also try the freezer version of The Impossible Burger.

Fast Food Option 1: The Impossible Burger at Burger King or TGI Friday’s

If you’re craving a burger after going plant-based, Burger King’s Impossible Whopper burger is pretty satisfying.

While they don’t have a plant-based cheese option yet, it’s still a decent burger.

The Impossible Burger at TGI Friday’s is seasoned slightly better than the flame-broiled whopper, but both should be eaten in moderation, as with all fast food.

Fast Food Option 2: Kevin Hart’s Restaurant

If you’re in the southern California area, why not check out Kevin Hart’s plant-based restaurant, Hart House.

While the options are plant based, they can still be somewhat high in fat and sodium, you can still enjoy them in moderation (as with anything).
