Abby Jimenez’s Part of Your World — My Review

--

Your typical small-town romance sprinkled with some magic…

Part of Your World is a popular romance novel I’ heard about on BookTok, as well as through some of my bookish friends.

The Good

It’s the story of Alexis Montgomery, a woman from a family of world-class surgeons, who happens to meet Daniel Grant, a man from a small town in Minnesota called Wakan.

On the way back from a funeral, she gets a flat tire and Daniel tows her car out of the ditch on the side of the road.

After sharing a meal, Daniel and Alexis hit it off.

And end up in bed together.

What neither of them knows is that it won’t be the last time.

What follows is a series of adorable exchanges between the two.

She reveals she stole his hoodie. They talk about a pig named Kevin Bacon who got her all muddy the night she slipped out of Daniel’s house, thinking she’d never see him again.

Daniel being incredibly sweet.

Despite that they’ve decided not to label what they’re doing, Daniel makes every effort to make her feel special.

He makes Doug open the drive-in movie theater just to accommodate the two of them.

He has Doug create a nice spread for them while they’re there, consisting of homemade goat cheese with sliced pears drizzled in honey, dried fruits, bruschetta sandwiches on fresh baked crusy bread, and two thermoses of hot chocolate.

It’s all so small-townish and magical.

It’s such a joy watching them slowly admit they can’t live without each other.

The Bad

The only thing I didn’t like were that the first couple of sex scenes are pretty much skipped over.

Like, why?

I don’t understand that.

Not that the author ever really goes into that much detail. Regardless, the story doesn’t suffer one bit.

The Ugly

Okay, there is no ugly — other than how Alexis’ ex treated her throughout their relationship and the book.

He was a narcissistic prick who thought if he made her feel bad about herself, that she wouldn’t leave him.

What kinda crap is that?

Anyway, hated him. Obviously.

And also, her “friend,” Gabby was going to give Daniel’s B&B a one-star review after his dog brought a live rodent in the house (which is kind of understandable — I might’ve done the same IRL).

But as far as the story goes, it was a crappy move. Even for someone like her (stuck on a high horse).

Come on, Gabby. Do better.

Overall Rating

My overall rating for this book is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Loved it from start to finish and really did not want it to end.

Luckily, I had the sequel (Yours Truly) on hand to keep me entertained (so far, so good).

I’ll have a review for that one as soon as I’m done reading it.

Hopefully, this one gave you a good idea as to whether you want to read it or not.

Happy reading!
